Mission
The mission of the Sabbath School is to be a system of local church religious education that builds faith and practice. Based at the local church, Sabbath School builds faith through the study of the scriptures and the doctrines and teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist church. It builds practice through the application of biblical principles of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to the individual lives of the Sabbath School member.
Objectives
The Sabbath School has four specific objectives:
Study of the Word Sabbath School helps students understand the gospel and make a personal commitment to Christ and His Word. It also helps members develop a devotional life and teach them how to interpret scriptures.
Fellowship Sabbath School fosters fellowship among members in the weekly class interactions.
Community Outreach Sabbath School help members catch a vision of the church’s mission to the community.
World Mission Emphasis. Sabbath School presents a global mission of the church.
Sabbath School is the first program offered each Saturday morning. It runs from 9:15 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. Each quarter we study one subject lesson and the Sabbath School provides the opportunity to review and discuss these lessons, to share our thoughts, gain new insights and deepen the understanding of the scriptures. To facilitate the lesson study, classes are divided into adults groups and children of various ages. The children’s classes are grouped as follows:
Beginner Class – Age 0-3
Kindergarten – Age 4-6
Primary – Age 7 -10
Junior – Age 10-12
Earliteen – Age 13 -16
